Construyendo Tulsa
INCREASING ACCESS TO GROWTH AND
OPPORTUNITY FOR HISPANIC CONTRACTOR
Established in 2022
Is an initiative in direct response to challenges faced by Hispanic contractors.
Identified Challenges
Construction business owners approached Avanzando Juntos about difficulties with city registration, permitting, insurance, and project pipelines. These hurdles were simplified to communication, technical, and digital barriers.
Initial Response
As a form of addressing this, Avanzando Juntos engaged Vamos Consulting to assess and develop resources for capacity building and aiding skilled contractors in overcoming obstacles affecting their day-to-day operations. The outcome was a successful 1-day workshop held in the Summer of 2023. This program was funded by the Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC).
Future Plans
Building on the excitement and positive feedback from the workshop, Avanzando Juntos aims to launch a cohort program in 2025.
